Julia is a native of Shrewsbury (graduate of Shrewsbury High School) and completed her physical therapy degree from Simmons College in Boston in 2005. She has been practicing physical therapy for almost 20 years in a few local clinics and is well known in the community. She has experience working with athletes of all ages from recreational to professional, including dancers. Julia has a strong dance background, previously working with the Boston Ballet through Boston Sports Medicine, where she developed a dance medicine program, and has continued to develop similar dance rehab programs in the area.
She established the Pelvic Health program at Flaherty Physical Therapy in 2022 and has completed Level 1 and 2a Pelvic Health courses through Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. She especially enjoys helping patients navigate their prenatal to postpartum experiences. She has a strong focus on manual therapy and holds certifications in dry needling, spinal manipulation, and the Graston technique. Julia also uses her skills to help patients with spinal dysfunction as well as helping post-surgery patients recover to their full function.
Julia is a certified Yoga instructor and is a Reiki Master practicing through her company, Arise Yoga and Wellness. She previously taught at MetroWest Yoga and Training Center in Westborough. Julia has experience as a bodybuilding competitor, competing 5 times in 2011-2012, and has a background in dance, gymnastics, and martial arts. She enjoys spending time with her family, practicing yoga, baking and doing outdoor activities.
Julia accepted the position of Clinic Manager at FPT in Northborough in 2020. She strives to create a level of clinical excellence for herself and the staff through mentoring and training programs.
